Job Description
1.
Provides
the Board of Trustees, Chancellor and Vice Chancellors legal advice on and assistance
in the development of proposed or pending administrative actions, decisions, or
policies;
- Provides liaison between the principal administrators or the Board
of Trustees and the General Administration on legal matters requiring the
attention of the staff of the Attorney General of North Carolina;
- Serves as the principal point of contact between UNC Charlotte and
off-campus regulatory and law-enforcement agencies where the principal
administrators of the University or the Board of Trustees determine to
proceed through counsel, in coordination with counsel for the General
Administration and the Office of the Attorney General;
- Assists the principal administrators or, upon request, their
staffs, to understand the legal causes and effects of their administrative
actions and to provide information about legal developments of interest to
particular administrators;
- Completes special assignments at the request of the Chancellor;
and
- Represents, at the request of appropriate administrator, the
University to the public and press about legal matters affecting the
University.
