ANIMALS ON CAMPUS
Policy
In
consideration of personal safety, as well as sanitation,
no person may bring an animal onto the University campus,
except for:
1.
Service animals for the disabled. A “service animal”
for the purposes of this policy is any
guide dog, signal dog, or other animal individually
trained to provide assistance to an individual with
a disability;
2.
Animals used for academic research, but only as set
forth in Policy Statement #101, Laboratory
Animals Used for Teaching and Research; and
3. Animals that
are brought on campus for a purpose specifically approved
and under conditions required by the Chancellor or a
vice chancellor.
Procedures
and Regulations
Persons
who bring animals onto campus in violation of this policy
will be required to leave campus with the animal immediately.
Stray or unattended animals may be impounded
by Police and Public Safety and turned over to the local
Animal Control Shelter.

policy, call Police and Public Safety at extension 2200.
